How to make sure your emails dont land in SPAM folder

One of the biggest problems with our clients is to ensure that the legitimate emails they send out to their users/ customers do not end up in the SPAM folder. To ensure that as a website administrator you need to follow the bext practices guidelines provided by Yahoo and Google.

First is the SPF record - to create SPF record for your domain you can use any of these tools:

http://wizard.easyspf.com/

http://old.openspf.org/wizard.html

http://www.mailradar.com/spf/

Second is to use DKIM. To create the DNS records for DKIM and/ or keys you can use following online wiards:

http://www.port25.com/support/support_dkwz.php

http://www.dnswatch.info/dkim/create-dns-record

Now hope that your domain registrar provides ability to add text records for the domain :)

Once you have added these records, you can check for them at

Of course you will need a mail server which supports DKIM. One such open source and free email server for windows which we use for almost all our clients is hMailServer. Has very active community and stable product with lot of advanced features.
